FAQ
Frequently asked questions
We hear a lot of the same questions from business owners evaluating agencies. Here are straight answers, organized by topic. If your question isn't here, call us or send us a message. We'll give you a direct answer.
General
We're a digital marketing agency that provides SEO, Google Ads management, web design, and generative engine optimization (GEO). We work primarily with service-based businesses in the Pacific Northwest, though we serve clients across the country. The short version: we help businesses show up where their customers are looking and convert that visibility into leads and revenue.
Since 2018. Eight years of working with local businesses, earning 101 five-star reviews at a 5.0 rating, and growing entirely through referrals and the results we deliver.
Two offices. Our headquarters is at 803 Kirkland Ave, Suite 202, Kirkland, WA 98033. Our second office is at 834 E Winding Creek Dr #103, Eagle, ID 83616. Both are staffed during business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM.
Nine people. Every team member is listed on our about page with their real name, title, and what they do. No contractors. No offshore teams. The people you meet are the people doing the work.
Yes. While most of our clients are in the Pacific Northwest, we work with businesses across the country. SEO and Google Ads are not location-dependent on our end. Web design projects are fully remote as well.
It starts with a 15-minute call with Leo Speaks, our Sr. Account Manager. He'll ask about your business, your goals, and what you've tried before. No pitch. No pressure. If there's a fit, we research your competitors and market position, identify the gaps, and present a strategy. Once approved, work begins within two weeks.
If you have the time, knowledge, and tools to do it yourself, you should. Seriously. But most business owners we talk to tried the DIY route and hit a ceiling. Marketing channels like SEO and Google Ads require ongoing attention, testing, and expertise that's hard to maintain while running a business.
Three things. First, you own everything: your website, ad accounts, content, analytics. Second, our pricing is published, not hidden behind a sales call. Third, we keep contracts short because we'd rather earn the next month than lock you in.
SEO
Most clients see measurable movement within 3 to 6 months. Competitive markets and new websites take longer. Local SEO for established businesses with a solid Google Business Profile can show results faster. This is also why our SEO agreements start at 6 months: SEO needs runway.
No. Any agency that guarantees rankings is either lying or using tactics that will get your site penalized. What we guarantee is the work: thorough research, clean execution, transparent reporting, and a strategy that adapts when the data says to. Our 101 reviews are the proof that the approach works.
Our SEO service covers keyword research, on-page optimization, technical SEO, content strategy and writing, link building, local SEO and Google Business Profile optimization, monthly reporting, and strategy calls. Everything is handled by our in-house team, led by Dylan Axelson, our SEO Director.
You can handle the basics: claiming your Google Business Profile, writing decent page titles, keeping your site updated. But competitive SEO requires technical knowledge, content production, link acquisition, and ongoing monitoring that's difficult to maintain alongside running a business. If your competition is investing in SEO and you're not, the gap widens every month.
SEO optimizes your visibility in traditional search results on Google, Bing, and similar engines. GEO optimizes your visibility in AI-generated answers from tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI Overviews. Both matter. We offer both.
Google Ads
It depends on your industry, your market, and your goals. A plumber in Kirkland has different cost-per-click dynamics than a plastic surgeon in Seattle. We'll tell you what budget makes sense for your situation during the initial call. Most of our clients spend between $1,500 and $10,000 per month on ad spend (separate from management fees).
Brock Olsen, our Paid Media Strategist, builds every account from scratch. Even when taking over an existing account, he rebuilds the campaign structure, keyword targeting, ad copy, and bidding strategy. Eight years of managing 100+ accounts has shown us that inherited account structures almost always have waste baked in.
For most service-based businesses, we target 5:1 or higher (five dollars in revenue for every dollar in ad spend). Some industries consistently hit 8:1 or 10:1. The real metric that matters is cost per lead and cost per acquisition, which we track and report monthly.
You can see traffic within 24 hours of launching a campaign. Meaningful data on what's working takes 2 to 4 weeks. Full optimization, where the account is consistently generating leads at your target cost, usually takes 60 to 90 days. This is why our Google Ads agreements start at 3 months.
We diagnose the problem using actual data: search terms, conversion tracking, landing page performance, competitor activity. Then we fix it. We don't wait for a monthly report to address underperformance. If something breaks, we catch it quickly because we're monitoring accounts daily, not weekly.
Web Design
Most projects take 6 to 10 weeks from kickoff to launch. Complex sites with custom functionality or extensive content can take longer. We'll give you a specific timeline during the scoping process. Every project is managed by David Chung, who keeps everything on schedule.
Yes. The design, the code, the content, the domain, the hosting account. All yours. If you ever leave, you take it all with you. This is one of our four commitments and it's non-negotiable. Too many agencies hold websites hostage.
We build on whatever platform makes sense for the project. WordPress is still the right choice for many businesses. But we also build on Astro, custom frameworks, and other platforms when they're a better fit for performance, security, or the client's needs.
We can help. Not every business needs a full rebuild. If your site is structurally sound but needs design updates, speed improvements, or content changes, we can scope that as a standalone project. Let us know what you're working with and we'll give you an honest assessment.
GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)
GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization. It's the practice of optimizing your business's visibility in AI-generated search results, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google's AI Overviews, and similar tools. When someone asks an AI "who's the best marketing agency in Kirkland," the answer it gives is influenced by your content, citations, and online presence. GEO helps you influence those answers.
They complement each other, but they're not the same thing. SEO gets you into traditional search results. GEO gets you cited in AI answers. The overlap is growing: Google's AI Overviews pull from organic search data, but standalone AI tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity use different signals. If your competitors are showing up in AI answers and you're not, you're losing visibility in a channel that's growing fast.
We built proprietary tracking tools that monitor how and where your business appears in AI-generated responses. This includes citation tracking, answer monitoring, and competitor comparison across multiple AI platforms. It's still an emerging field, and most agencies don't track it at all, which is exactly why it's an opportunity.
Pricing and Contracts
Our pricing is published on our website at /pricing. No discovery call required. No hidden fees. Pricing varies by service: SEO, Google Ads, web design, and GEO each have their own pricing structure.
We keep contracts short by service. Google Ads: 3-month initial agreement, then month-to-month. SEO: 6-month initial agreement, then month-to-month (SEO needs more runway to show results). Web design: project-based, no retainer required. After the initial period, you stay because the work is producing results, not because a contract says you have to.
It depends on the service. Some services include a one-time setup fee for initial research, account builds, or technical audits. These are listed on our pricing page with no surprises.
Everything. Strategy, execution, reporting, and communication. We don't charge extra for strategy calls, report access, or "rush" work. Your monthly fee covers the full scope of work outlined in your agreement. No add-ons. No surprise line items.
We handle this on a case-by-case basis. If you need to pause due to seasonality, budget shifts, or business changes, talk to your account manager. We're reasonable. We'd rather pause and resume than lose a good client relationship over a temporary situation.
Process and Communication
At minimum, monthly reporting and a strategy call. Most clients also communicate with their account manager via email or phone throughout the month as needed. You'll never wonder what we're doing. If you want more frequent check-ins, just ask.
You'll have a primary point of contact (usually Leo Speaks or David Chung) plus direct access to the specialists working on your account. If Dylan is running your SEO, you can talk to Dylan. If Brock is managing your ads, you can talk to Brock. No middlemen. No telephone game.
Monthly reports that focus on business outcomes: leads generated, revenue attributed, ranking changes, ad performance, and conversion data. We don't pad reports with vanity metrics. If something isn't working, we say so and explain what we're doing about it. Reports are designed to be read in under five minutes.
Tell us. Directly. We'd rather hear about a problem early than find out three months later. Our short contract structure means you're never stuck. But our goal is to fix whatever isn't working, not just let you walk away. That's the advantage of a team small enough to care.
Call us at (425) 233-8657, send us a message at /contact, or request a free SEO audit at /free-seo-audit. The first step is always a conversation. No commitment. No pressure. We'll tell you what makes sense for your business, and you can decide from there.
